Benefits of Membership

Categories of Membership

The Careers Advisers Association of NSW & ACT Inc shall change your membership category at any time during your membership if you are deemed ineligible for the membership category applied for or given to you on joining or renewal.

Category *Rates Include GST and are for 2020 year of membership	New Members	Renewing Members
Professional Membership - A person who holds the position of careers adviser responsible for career education in a New South Wales or Australian Capital Territory government or non-government school; and possesses an endorsed Graduate Certificate in Career Development (or an equivalent qualification, or higher) or have been approved by the Association’s Executive Committee to hold a professional membership in accordance with the ‘Guidelines for Alternative Pathway to Professional Status: Policy and Procedures’ (See below for more information on alternative pathways)	$154.00	$137.50
Associate Membership - Persons who work in a career development field complementary to and in support of career education in a New South Wales or Australian Capital Territory school and possess an endorsed Certificate IV in Career Development (or an equivalent qualification or higher); or have been approved by the Association’s Executive Committee to hold an associate membership in accordance with the ‘Guidelines for Alternative Pathway to Associate Status: Policy and Procedures’	$154.00	$137.50
Affiliate Membership - Those who do not qualify for Professional or Associate Membership and who maintain an interest in and support for career education in schools.	$154.00	$137.50
Retired Members Membership - For existing members of the Association holding a current membership who are retiring and will no longer be working in any significant capacity in a careers field as determined by CAA.	Not Applicable	$27.50

Alternative Pathway To Membership

There is an alternative pathway available for people who do not possess formal qualifications but who have sufficient other relevant careers experience which deems them eligible for professional or affiliate membership. Duration of Membership

Please note that membership of CAA is for a calendar year. If you join between 1 January and 31 October, your membership will be for that calendar year in which you joined. If you join between 1 November and 31 December each year, your membership will be carried forward to the following year calendar year. Members have until 31 March each year to renew their membership for the current calendar year. After 31 March, a new membership must be applied for.

Conditions of Membership

It is a condition of your membership that you acknowledge:

that the Careers Advisers Association of NSW & ACT Inc (ABN 58 877 417 536) ("CAA") reserves the right to change your membership category at any time in its absolute discretion should CAA determine you are not eligible for the category applied for or notified at any time during your membership; and
that your use of the CAA website is, and all emails you receive from CAA are governed by the CAA Website Terms of Use; and
and agree to comply with the Constitution, Professional Development Policy, Code of Ethics of CAA and any other policies, rules and regulations applicable to members of CAA from time to time; and
and agree to undertake continuing professional development (if applicable) as required by CAA.

How To Join The Association or Renew Your Membership
